Colorado won the first set. Arizona State built the rest of Friday night around making the next point harder to earn.

No. 11 ASU recorded a season-high 15 blocks and held No. 23 Colorado to a .056 hitting percentage in a 23–25, 25–19, 25–18, 27–25 victory at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe on Oct. 9.

The Sun Devils improved to 12–3 overall and 3–1 in Big 12 play. They controlled the middle two sets but still needed extra points in the fourth to finish the match, a reminder that a strong defensive night does not remove every late complication.

For Queen Creek fans following the East Valley program, Sunday brings another ranked opponent to the same floor. No. 8 TCU visits Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. Arizona time. ESPN2 is scheduled to televise the match.

ASU’s next task is straightforward to describe and harder to repeat: bring the same resistance at the net against a top-10 team.
