The game’s momentum shifted dramatically in the seventh inning, where Arizona scored nine runs to break open a tight contest. The victory improved the Diamondbacks’ record to 59-52, while the Guardians fell to .500 at 56-56.

Arizona took an early lead in the first inning when Hoskins homered 424 feet to center field, driving in DeLauter to make the score 2-0. The Guardians answered in the fifth inning when DeLauter hit a home run 414 feet to right-center, narrowing the gap to 2-1 before Arizona’s offense regained control.
The seventh inning proved to be the turning point. Gerardo Carrillo earned the win with two scoreless innings, setting the stage for the offensive explosion. Perdomo started the rally with a home run to right field.
Vargas then singled to right, allowing Marte to score. McCann followed with a double to right, bringing Arenado and Vargas home to extend the lead. The inning culminated when Carroll hit a three-run home run to center field, capping a massive nine-run frame.
Arenado added another home run in the eighth inning, blasting a ball 388 feet to left field. However, Cleveland managed to score in the eighth as Kwan’s single was initially ruled a hit but overturned on challenge, allowing two runs to score. DeLauter’s home run earlier in the inning had already given Cleveland some breathing room.
