Pfaadt gives Arizona length

Tawa breaks it open
Arizona took control in the bottom of the fourth. Tawa homered to left, a 404-foot drive that brought in Marte and Del Castillo for a 3-0 Diamondbacks lead. It was the only home run of the game and accounted for Arizona’s first three runs.

Padres get one in the seventh
San Diego scored in the top of the seventh to cut the deficit to 3-1. Campusano reached on an infield single to third, France scored on a throwing error by third baseman Arenado, and Rengifo was safe at third on the error.
