Banner Health's planned sale of Banner Lassen Medical Center in Lassen County, California, to a Quorum Health affiliate is still working through state reviews, the hospital said in a statement published Oct. 7 by Lassen News.

Banner signed an asset purchase agreement for the sale and had said the deal could close as soon as December 2026 if regulators approve it, according to the statement.

The hospital said Quorum Health is nearing the end of state reviews of its change to nonprofit status. Once that is done, the California Attorney General's Office can finish its own review of the hospital sale.

If the approvals come through, the hospital said, ownership would change hands on March 31, 2027.

"Our teams continue working together toward a successful transition with a continued focus on patient care and service to our community," the statement said.

The statement did not disclose a sale price.

Banner Health employs about 800 people in Queen Creek, according to local government records.
