Two separate domestic disturbance incidents in the Phoenix metropolitan area resulted in fatal officer-involved shootings within a 24-hour period. The incidents occurred Friday night in Phoenix and just before 10:15 a.m. Saturday in Chandler. No officers were injured in either shooting.

Chandler police responded to a reported domestic dispute in the 900 block of East Laredo Street on Saturday morning. Upon arrival, the first officer on the scene encountered a man and a woman inside a nearby vehicle. Authorities stated the man was holding a shotgun. Police said the officer issued repeated commands for the suspect to drop the weapon before discharging multiple rounds. The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Jeremiah Louis Partridge, who died at the scene. The Mesa Police Department is leading the investigation into the Chandler shooting.

Monique Tep, a nearby resident, reported hearing four or five gunshots while drinking coffee at her home. She later observed police vehicles surrounding the area. Another Chandler resident, Yvette Lagunes, stated she had previous encounters with Partridge involving weapons. Lagunes described an incident where Partridge arrived at her home angrily, banged on the door, and entered the garage. She said she and her husband decided to remain inside the house during that encounter.

Lagunes, who moved to the neighborhood in 2017, said recent violence has reinforced her decision to sell her home. She cited previous incidents involving broken car windows and stated that the presence of police does not guarantee safety. She told reporters that residents have the choice to leave the area.

The first incident occurred Friday night in Phoenix. Police responded to reports of a family dispute involving an individual armed with a knife. According to Phoenix Police Department spokesperson John Buchanan, officers were speaking with a woman outside a home when a man exited the residence holding a knife and began chasing another man. An officer-involved shooting followed.

Phoenix Fire Department personnel transported the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the Phoenix shooting.

Details regarding the identities of the individuals involved in the Phoenix incident were not provided in the source material.

Chandler is about 13 miles west of Queen Creek.
