A fire broke out at a residential complex in Mesa on Saturday morning, prompting a response from local emergency crews. The incident occurred near the intersection of Baseline and Dobson roads, an area located approximately 16 miles northwest of Queen Creek.

Mesa Fire and Medical Department personnel arrived at the scene around 10 a.m. to find smoke and flames emerging from the roof of the apartment building. Firefighters from both Mesa and Chandler worked together to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent units.

The fire resulted in the displacement of two individuals. Subsequent investigation by fire officials determined that fireworks were the cause of the ignition.

In a statement following the incident, the Mesa Fire and Medical Department urged residents to exercise caution with pyrotechnics. The department noted that fireworks have the potential to rapidly ignite homes and other structures, advising the public to prioritize safety.

Details regarding the extent of property damage or any injuries were not provided in the initial report. Further information about the investigation or potential charges remains unclear at this time.
