Five Queen Creek businesses moved a step closer to serving alcohol after the Town Council recommended that the state approve their liquor license applications, Your Valley reported. The final decision rests with Arizona's Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.

Kilkenny's Irish Pub, which is still being built at 20736 E. Munoz St., wants a Series 6 bar license. That license covers beer, wine and distilled spirits, sold for drinking on site or to take away.

Two applicants are after Series 7 licenses, which are limited to beer and wine: The Sacred Pint on South Ellsworth Road (No. 22020) and Queen Creek Nail Spa in Suite 105 at 37360 N. Gary Road.

The remaining two are restaurants seeking Series 12 licenses, a category meant for places where food is the main business and alcohol comes second. They are Snooze, in Suite 102 at 21791 S. Ellsworth Loop Road, and Rosati's Pizza, in Suite B-101 at 25166 S. Ellsworth Road.
