Third-quarter comeback
The Detroit Pistons came back from an 18-point halftime deficit to beat the Phoenix Suns 109-107 in a preseason game Monday, October 5, 2026, at Little Caesars Arena. Ebuka Okorie's driving layup with 5.8 seconds left decided it. The crowd was 12,007.
Phoenix scored 35 points in the first quarter and 33 in the second to lead 68-50 at the break. Detroit then outscored the Suns 34-16 in the third, and Daniss Jenkins tied the game 84-84 with a 26-foot three-pointer with 3.9 seconds left in the period.
A tight finish
The fourth quarter went back and forth. Jamaree Bouyea hit a three-pointer and a two-point shot to put Phoenix ahead 89-84 early in the period before Detroit answered with four straight scores, including two three-pointers from Javonte Green. The Pistons led 107-102 in the final half-minute, but Bouyea hit a three with 15.1 seconds left and Koa Peat dunked to tie it at 107 with 12.1 seconds to go. Okorie then scored the winning basket.
