The Arizona Cardinals have announced their initial depth chart as they prepare to face the Los Angeles Chargers in their season opener this week. While much of the chart aligns with expectations, several notable points emerged.
Tyler Allgeier has been designated as the starting running back, despite Jeremiyah Love being the third overall pick in the draft. Both players are expected to play significant roles in the offense, but it is noteworthy that Love will begin the season on the bench.
He has not participated in kick returns during training camp or preseason, and is currently listed as the third kick returner behind Devin Duvernay and Max Melton.
On defense, Jack Gibbens has secured the starting inside linebacker position alongside Mack Wilson, with Cody Simon listed as the backup. The depth chart also indicates that former first-round pick Robinson is not a starter, as Dante Stills is listed ahead of him at left defensive tackle. Both players are listed as co-starters at outside linebacker opposite Josh Sweat.
