The Arizona Cardinals announced several roster changes on Saturday, following their 27-14 preseason victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. The team placed three players on injured reserve, effectively ending their seasons, and signed three new players to fill the vacancies.
The players placed on injured reserve include offensive lineman Carter Bisontis, who suffered a torn MCL in his left knee and will require surgery. Additionally, defensive players Geers and Keys were also placed on IR. Keys had a standout performance with 11 tackles in the Hall of Fame Game but had not practiced since then.
In response to these losses, the Cardinals signed three new players. Tight end Cupp, who previously had a tryout with the team, is a rookie free agent who spent time on the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad and played in one game. Defensive lineman Spears, a rookie from SMU, has a six-year collegiate career with 49 games played, totaling 45 tackles and two sacks.
Lastly, running back Stewart, who played in the UFL this past spring, was signed to help address the team's depth issues, particularly with first-round pick Jeremiyah Love and other key players dealing with injuries.
