The Arizona Cardinals have moved cornerback Will Johnson to injured reserve and elevated cornerback Starling Thomas V from the practice squad to the active roster. The team announced the moves Sept. 23.
Arizona also added defensive lineman Jay Toia to its practice squad. The transactions were completed at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe.
Toia appeared in five games for the Dallas Cowboys last season and recorded four tackles. Dallas selected him in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 217th overall, after his college career at UCLA.
During his senior season in 2024, Toia started all 12 games and finished with 25 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack. He received honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition and will wear No. 92 for the Cardinals' practice squad.
