Marvin Harrison Jr.’s struggles with the Arizona Cardinals have reportedly become a subject of concern among NFL executives and scouts, who are trying to understand why the former No. 4 pick has not produced as expected.
Harrison entered the league after a standout Ohio State career and finished his rookie season ranked 41st in Pro Football Network’s NFL Wide Receiver Impact metrics. His production decreased in 2025, and his start this season has been limited to one catch for 33 yards through two games.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that league front offices are discussing whether Harrison needs a change of scenery or could eventually be traded. Fowler also said the reaction among scouts and executives has been one of surprise because Harrison was viewed as having most of the traits expected from a top receiver, although some questioned whether he had the same level of competitive drive.
Harrison has said he does not have any problems and remains confident in his preparation and work. Fowler reported that other teams are becoming concerned, while also noting that Arizona has several players competing for offensive targets.
Tight end Trey McBride, receiver Michael Wilson and running back Jeremiyah Love are all expected to receive opportunities in the passing game. Harrison had 116 targets as a rookie, followed by 73 in 2025 and four through two games this season.
