Queen Creek Unified School District said 116 students earned the highest possible Advanced Placement exam score of 5 on at least one test during the 2025-26 school year, according to a district announcement.
The achievement spans QCUSD’s three comprehensive high schools - Crismon, Eastmark and Queen Creek - which together offer more than 25 AP courses. The district listed examples such as microeconomics, calculus, statistics, European history, psychology and 2-D art and design as part of a broader catalog that lets students challenge themselves across academic interests.
An AP score of 5 is the top mark on the College Board scale. QCUSD said it represents exceptional performance and that successful exam scores can create opportunities for college credit, advanced placement or course exemptions, depending on each college or university’s policies.
What the district emphasized
QCUSD framed the 116 top scores as evidence of student dedication and academic ambition, as well as support from educators who guide students through demanding year-long AP coursework. According to the district, AP classes require students to engage deeply with content, develop analytical and problem-solving skills, and prepare for comprehensive exams that measure understanding of college-level material.
The district’s high school course catalog emphasizes that AP courses are designed as college-level experiences. Credit and placement decisions remain with receiving institutions, QCUSD noted, even when a student earns the top score of 5.
