Queen Creek, Arizona — The Arizona Cardinals opened training camp Thursday with four players on the physically unable to perform list, a designation that keeps them out of practice for now.
Outside linebacker Josh Sweat, cornerback Garrett Williams, tight end Tip Reiman and left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. were listed with knee, Achilles, ankle and knee issues, respectively. The club said all four are expected to return at some point during camp.
Coach Mike LaFleur said Johnson's and Sweat's situations were not viewed as serious. The Cardinals practiced for the first time Thursday under their four-days-on, one-day-off camp schedule.
Running back James Conner, defensive lineman Walter Nolen III and running back Trey Benson were on the field rather than the PUP list, according to the team. The distinction matters because a player on PUP cannot practice until he is activated.
Queen Creek is part of the Cardinals' East Valley fan market, and the camp report supplies the club's first official availability update ahead of the 2026 season.
