Queen Creek middle schoolers can enter the 2027 National Civics Bee, with the local chamber again partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation on the competition.

The entry period is open through Feb. 2, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time, or 2:59 a.m. Feb. 3 in Arizona. Participation is free for students in grades six through eight, including those attending public, private and charter schools or learning at home.

The first round asks students to respond to four short-answer prompts about ideas for improving their communities. Selected finalists move on to in-person regional competitions; the top three at each regional event advance to a state final.

The chamber announced its participation Sept. 30.

Families can read the local announcement and find the application, essay guide and contest rules on the national organizer’s entry page.
