Pitching Dominance
Eduardo Rodriguez secured his ninth win of the season, delivering a solid outing for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He pitched six innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs while striking out four batters and walking three. His performance provided the necessary foundation for the away team’s offensive efforts.
The Diamondbacks’ bullpen maintained the lead with precision. Juan Morillo worked one scoreless inning, recording one strikeout. Kevin Ginkel followed with another perfect frame, also striking out one hitter. Paul Sewald closed the game with his 24th save, pitching one hitless inning and adding another strikeout to the total.
For Washington, Zack Littell took the loss after five innings of work. He allowed four hits and one earned run, striking out five batters but walking one. Carson Palmquist started for the Nationals, pitching 1.1 innings and giving up two hits and two earned runs with three walks and one strikeout.
Tom Cosgrove, Orlando Ribalta, and Max Kranick also appeared in relief for Washington, combining to prevent further damage but unable to turn the tide.

Arizona established an early advantage in the second inning. Tawa reached on a bunt single to first base, advancing Kepler to score and putting Locklear in scoring position. Marte then grounded into a fielder’s choice to first, allowing Locklear to score from third.
