LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, is set to build a new facility in McKinney, with an investment of nearly $919 million. This project is expected to create over 600 jobs throughout its duration. The first phase alone will involve a $307 million capital investment and approximately 500 jobs.
The facility will cover more than 650,000 square feet, serving as LITEON's North American headquarters for advanced manufacturing. It will focus on designing and producing power systems essential for AI data centers. The state supported the initiative with a $3.5 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund and a $100,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.
Founded in 1975, LITEON was the first electronics company listed on the Taiwan stock exchange and has a history of innovation in LED technology and power management. The company's shift towards AI infrastructure has seen its AI-related revenue grow significantly, projected to reach 40 percent of total revenue this year.
This facility will be located in North Texas, which has the highest number of planned data centers in the state, allowing for the local design and manufacturing of necessary power systems. For McKinney, this investment represents one of the largest corporate commitments in its history, further anchoring the local economy in advanced manufacturing. Construction and hiring timelines have yet to be announced.
The investment is part of a broader wave of AI infrastructure manufacturing being built in the United States.
