A collision between a pickup truck and an industrial vehicle in Mesa has resulted in one death and one person suffering critical injuries, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Broadway and Extension roads just after 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Mesa is located approximately 16 miles northwest of Queen Creek.
Firefighters from two ladder companies responded to the scene to extricate individuals trapped within the damaged vehicles. Emergency personnel pronounced one adult dead at the location. A second individual sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby trauma center for treatment.
During the emergency response and subsequent investigation, authorities closed Broadway Road in both directions near Extension Road. The identities of the individuals involved have not been released to the public.
