The Queen Creek Olive Mill is preparing to host its 13th annual Garlic Festival over the upcoming weekend. The event is designed to mark the start of the fall season with a variety of activities centered around the farm's agricultural products. Admission and parking for attendees are free, and the venue is situated near the intersection of Meridian and Combs roads.
Visitors can explore the estate to see the garlic harvesting process and learn about the four distinct varieties cultivated on the property. The farm offers behind-the-scenes access to its drying and storage facilities. A dedicated kitchen area provides a menu featuring garlic-inspired dishes, while a vendor alley allows guests to purchase gourmet items.
The farm’s Garlic Olive Oil Growlers and garlic-stuffed olives are highlighted as popular items for purchase.
Live cooking demonstrations are a key component of the schedule. Perry Rea, the owner of the Queen Creek Olive Mill, is set to present recipes using the farm's produce. The event also includes educational sessions such as Garlic and Olive Oil 101 classes and Extra Virgin Express Estate tours.
Entertainment options vary by age group. Families can participate in face painting, raffles, and DIY olive crown making. Adults aged 21 and older have access to wine and beer tastings, as well as specialty drinks like sunset spritz and sangrias. Live music will be performed throughout the weekend.
