Rosati's Pizza is opening a Queen Creek restaurant this week and will mark it with a grand opening from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 25166 S. Ellsworth Road, Suite B101.

According to a press release reported by the Queen Creek Independent, visitors can get one free slice of the chain's Chicago-style pizza per person, plus free shaved ice from Tiki Jo's Hawaiian Shaved Ice. The Queen Creek Fire Department plans to bring a fire truck so children can look it over and meet firefighters.

The event will raise money for the Fighter Country Foundation, a nonprofit that backs the airmen and families of Luke Air Force Base, and the restaurant will give the group part of the day's proceeds.

The Queen Creek shop is the fourth Rosati's run by Heather Kroll and her husband, Lee, who also own the chain's restaurants in Chandler, Tempe and San Tan Valley.

"We're excited to introduce more people throughout the East Valley to Rosati's Pizza," Heather Kroll said in the release. She added that the couple is "proud to use our grand opening to support Fighter Country Foundation and the military members and families it serves."
