Luke Kennard scored 20 points, and the Phoenix Suns defeated the San Antonio Spurs 102-98 on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. Phoenix was the home team and improved to 1-2, while San Antonio fell to 0-2.

The Suns built their advantage early and maintained it through three quarters before San Antonio made its closest push late. Phoenix led 35-25 after the first quarter, then took a 58-51 advantage into halftime. The Suns extended the margin to 85-73 after three quarters before the Spurs outscored them 25-17 in the fourth.

Phoenix's first-quarter edge came from a 35-point period, with Kennard, Jalen Green and Jordan Goodwin among the Suns who converted from the field. The Suns also received a 15-rebound performance from Khaman Maluach and five assists from Green.

San Antonio trimmed the deficit during the second quarter but could not erase Phoenix's lead. Dylan Harper led the Spurs with 15 points, while Victor Wembanyama finished with six assists. Luke Kornet collected 10 rebounds for San Antonio.

Phoenix carried a 12-point lead into the final period. The Spurs cut into the margin during the fourth, but the Suns still finished with the four-point victory. San Antonio's final points came from Maliq Brown's 26-foot 3-pointer, leaving the score at 102-98.

The Suns finished with 102 points to San Antonio's 98. Phoenix's scoring by quarter was 35, 23, 27 and 17. The Spurs scored 25, 26, 22 and 25 in the corresponding periods.

The game drew an attendance of 17,071 at Mortgage Matchup Center. Phoenix moved to 1-2 after the result, while San Antonio's record became 0-2.
