CASA GRANDE, Arizona — Recent job cuts at Lucid Motors have left some Pinal County residents looking for help with food, bills and employment resources, according to a PinalCentral report.

Community advocate Andy Salazar told the outlet that some workers have contacted him after losing their jobs.
They are facing hardships and are in need of help with food and their bills,

The report identified several food resources in Casa Grande, including Caring Hands of Pinal County, St. Vincent de Paul, Casa Grande Food Bank and Casa Grande Alliance Food Pantry. It also noted United Food Bank distributions scheduled in Coolidge and at the Pinal Fairgrounds and Event Center.

Seeds of Hope Hot Lunch was listed as another meal resource, with service at Fountains of Living Water Church. The report also pointed residents to the Salvation Army Casa Grande Corps and St. Vincent de Paul for emergency food boxes, social services and other assistance.

Lucid manufactures electric vehicles at a large plant on Thornton Road in Casa Grande, making the layoffs a regional workforce issue for Pinal County communities tied to the East Valley economy.

Queen Creek is in the Phoenix metropolitan area, about 40 miles southeast of downtown Phoenix, along the Maricopa-Pinal county line.
