Randy Bennett has secured his first significant commitment as the new head men's basketball coach at Arizona State University. Carson Crawford, a 6-foot-6 wing from Fleming Park High School in Orange Park, Florida, announced his commitment following an official visit to the campus.
Crawford, who is ranked as the No. 50 overall prospect and the No. 13 small forward in the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite, also received offers from several prominent programs, including Georgia, Ole Miss, Florida State, Syracuse, and Texas A&M. His commitment marks the beginning of the 2027 recruiting cycle for Arizona State.
This commitment is notable as Crawford is the highest-ranked recruit to join Bennett since he took over the program after 25 years at Saint Mary's in California. Additionally, ESPN ranks him as the 46th overall player in the Next 100 and the No. 10 power forward in the class.
In the Rivals Industry Ranking, Crawford is listed as the No. 47 overall recruit and the 12th-ranked small forward. He previously played for the Florida Rebels AAU club, which won the 2026 Nike EYBL Peach Jam tournament, a prestigious grassroots basketball event. During the tournament, Crawford averaged 7.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting over 55% from the field.
