The Arizona Cardinals placed safety Kitan Crawford on injured reserve and moved cornerback Kalen King from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Sept. 16.
Crawford was injured during the Cardinals’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. He was taken from the field by cart during the third quarter. The source did not provide additional details about the injury or Crawford’s expected return.
Arizona also added cornerback Art Green and safety Jerrick Reed II to its practice squad. Wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette was released from the practice squad as part of the moves. The transactions took place at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe.
Green, 26, spent the past two seasons with the New York Giants, appearing in 20 games. He recorded five defensive tackles, 13 special-teams tackles and one forced fumble during that span. Green entered the NFL with Denver in 2023 as an undrafted player from the University of Houston and spent his first season on the Broncos’ practice squad. He will wear No. 23 for Arizona.
Reed, also 26, has played in 23 NFL games, including one start, for Tennessee and Seattle. His career totals include nine tackles on defense and 15 on special teams. A sixth-round selection by Seattle in 2023 out of New Mexico, Reed played three games, including one start, for Tennessee last season after being claimed off waivers.
