Arizona State stopped Hawai‘i near the goal line and turned the next possession into a touchdown on its way to a 30–12 victory Saturday, Oct. 10.

The Sun Devils improved to 3–2 after a defensive stand early in the second quarter. Hawai‘i had first-and-goal at the 2, but penalties and two sacks pushed it backward. The drive ended with a missed 51-yard field goal, according to ASU’s official recap.

Arizona State answered with a 67-yard touchdown drive to take a 14–3 lead. A later 67-yard touchdown run widened the gap, and ASU held on after Hawai‘i cut its deficit to 24–12.

Coach Kenny Dillingham credited the defense’s communication and red-zone performance in his postgame remarks.

The Sun Devils next visit Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Arizona time on FOX.
