A Barnes & Noble bookstore is set to hold its grand opening at Queen Creek Marketplace on Wednesday, Nov. 11, the first of five new tenants announced for the shopping center at 21398 S. Ellsworth Loop Road.

The bookstore will take about 15,000 square feet near T.J. Maxx and J. Crew, according to an announcement from Vestar, which owns and operates the center, that AZ Big Media published Monday. A Barnes & Noble representative said the store will carry books, gifts, toys and games and include a Barnes & Noble Cafe.

The other four arrivals are scheduled for next year:

  • LongHorn Steakhouse plans its first Southeast Valley location in a 5,800-square-foot space, with opening expected in spring 2027.
  • JINYA Ramen Bar will fill about 3,000 square feet in a new shop building that is being built from the ground up, with an early 2027 opening.
  • Aubergine Kitchen, a family-owned restaurant serving salads, bowls and smoothies, will open its second restaurant in the state in roughly 3,000 square feet near Barrio Queen and Trader Joe's at the beginning of 2027.
  • LaserAway, the aesthetic dermatology chain, also targets early 2027.

Together the five add close to 30,000 square feet of stores and restaurants and bring the center to 96% occupancy, according to Vestar.

"Each of these new stores bring something unique," Angie Kory, Vestar's vice president of leasing, said in the announcement, noting that the center has kept adding tenants since it opened in 2008.

Queen Creek Marketplace covers about 900,000 square feet and holds over 60 stores, restaurants and entertainment spots run by national and regional chains, among them Target, Trader Joe's, Nordstrom Rack, Dave & Buster's and Harkins Theatres. Vestar also developed the nearby Vineyard Towne Center and Queen Creek Crossing.
