Boston’s offense exploded for 11 runs against Arizona, with every starter driving in a run. Brayan Bello earned the win as the Red Sox improved to 67-58.

Offensive Outburst

The Boston Red Sox overwhelmed the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-1 on Monday, August 17, at Fenway Park. The home team’s lineup was remarkably efficient, with all nine starters driving in at least one run during the rout. Attendance at the venue reached 36,511 fans. Boston extended its season record to 67-58, while Arizona fell to 66-60.

Game Flow

Boston took an early lead in the second inning when White singled to left field, allowing Durbin to score. Sogard followed with a double to center that brought in White. Durbin added another RBI in the third inning on a single to right field. The Red Sox continued their pressure in the fourth, with Rafaela doubling in Sogard.

The fifth inning proved decisive. Contreras launched a home run to left field, extending the gap. Monasterio delivered a sacrifice fly that scored Rutschman, and Gasper grounded out to second to bring home Durbin. Boston added three more runs in the sixth inning. Perdomo hit a sacrifice fly for Vargas, Abreu singled in Rafaela, and Rutschman doubled in Abreu.

The seventh inning saw the final runs. Gasper hit a home run to right field, and Abreu singled to center to score Rafaela. Arizona managed only one run in the sixth inning when Perdomo’s sacrifice fly allowed Vargas to cross the plate.

Pitching Performance

Brayan Bello secured the win, pitching 4.2 innings while allowing three hits and one earned run. He struck out three batters and walked one. Alec Gamboa started the game, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout. Greg Weissert pitched one scoreless inning, striking out one. Jovani Moran and Wyatt Olds each pitched one scoreless inning, with Moran striking out one and Olds striking out two.

For Arizona, Mitch Bratt took the loss. He pitched three innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs while walking three batters. Zack Littell pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 11 hits and six earned runs. Dennis Santana and Ildemaro Vargas each pitched one inning without allowing earned runs.
