The city of Chandler has confirmed that all Flock Safety license plate reader cameras have either been covered or dismantled. This announcement was made by city spokesperson Matt Burdick on August 27, following directives from the Chandler Police Department issued on August 7 regarding the termination of their contract with the surveillance camera company.

Burdick stated that the 36 installed Flock cameras around Chandler are no longer capturing images of vehicles, as they have been covered. The decision to end the relationship with Flock Safety was made by Police Chief Bryan Chapman, leading to the current status of the cameras in the city.

Further details regarding the implications of this decision or any future plans for surveillance in Chandler were not provided.
