The Arizona Cardinals are preparing for the upcoming 2026 season, which is just 16 days away. Despite low expectations for the 17-game campaign, the team has intriguing prospects, particularly rookie first-round pick Jeremiyah Love and third-round selection Carson Beck, both of whom are currently dealing with injuries as the preseason concludes.

Insider John Gambadoro provided an update on Love, who is recovering from an ankle sprain sustained in his debut against the Las Vegas Raiders two weeks ago. Gambadoro noted that Love is making progress but still has a way to go before being fully cleared.

While his prognosis is generally positive, it remains uncertain whether he will be ready for the first game of the season. The Cardinals have a reliable backup in Tyler Allgeier, which may alleviate concerns about Love's immediate availability.

Carson Beck is also on the mend after suffering a minor rib injury during the Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers on August 6. Gambadoro indicated that Beck is unlikely to start the season on the injured reserve list, although he missed valuable playing time during the preseason. Beck had previously impressed in his first start, completing 15 of 19 passes.

Thankfully, his injury is not expected to have long-term implications, and he should be on the active roster when the season begins.

With Jacoby Brissett set as the starting quarterback, attention is turning to when Beck might make his first career start. A potential timeline suggests that he could debut in week 12 against the Washington Commanders, which would allow him several opportunities to establish himself as a future leader for the team.

Both Love and Beck are anticipated to play significant roles for the Cardinals this season, though further details about their exact availability remain unclear.
