Arizona State made a ranked matchup look unusually one-sided Sunday, sweeping No. 8 TCU 25–16, 25–17, 25–10 at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe.
The No. 11 Sun Devils improved to 13–3 overall and 4–1 in Big 12 play. They also ended TCU’s 12-match winning streak, which had lasted since September 4.
For Queen Creek supporters of the region’s Big 12 program, the most telling number may be .048: that was TCU’s hitting percentage against a defense that recorded 12 blocks. ASU has now reached double figures in blocks in four consecutive matches.
Sunday brought the Sun Devils their third victory over a top-10 opponent this season and their sixth against a ranked team. It was also their second top-10 sweep of the year.
