Toscano Farms in Gilbert is hosting a summer program for approximately 200 young people, focusing on personal development through agricultural activities. The initiative aims to provide a supportive environment where participants can build life skills and social connections.

Spencer Martin, a 17-year-old participant, described his previous circumstances as difficult, citing struggles with mental health and negative peer influences. He stated that he sought an activity to occupy his time and found a new sense of direction at the farm. Martin attributed his improved outlook to the responsibility he has learned, noting that he wishes to avoid returning to his prior state of mind.

Other participants have echoed similar sentiments regarding the program's impact. Gabby Brown mentioned that the experience helped her develop greater confidence and accountability. Sagelynn Henderson encouraged others to participate, calling it a highly positive experience. Chloe Camacho advised potential attendees to remain open to new challenges.

Owner Jena Toscano explained that the facility was established to create a welcoming space for youth. She emphasized the goal of ensuring every child feels valued and heard, rather than being treated as an anonymous individual. The program seeks to foster a sense of belonging among its attendees.

Martin offered advice to others facing similar struggles, suggesting that making small, incremental changes can lead to positive outcomes. He encouraged individuals to step away from negative patterns and observe the benefits of doing so.

Gilbert is located approximately 11 miles northwest of Queen Creek.

Details regarding the specific duration of the program, the total number of staff members involved, and the long-term outcomes for past participants are not yet clear.
