Queen Creek, Arizona — The Phoenix Suns made their agreement with center Mark Williams official July 7, retaining the restricted free agent on a three-year contract worth $38 million, according to NBA.com and ESPN reporting cited there.

Williams, 24, averaged 11.7 points and eight rebounds in 60 games last season. He started 55 of those games and made 64% of his field-goal attempts, NBA.com reported.

The 7-foot-1 center arrived in Phoenix in a 2025 draft-night trade after three seasons with Charlotte. His 60 appearances were a career high, although he missed 10 games during the regular season with a left-foot stress reaction and did not play in the Suns’ first-round series against Oklahoma City.

Williams joins Oso Ighodaro and Khaman Maluach among Phoenix’s returning centers. NBA.com reported that the club also retained guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin in free agency.

Queen Creek sits in the Phoenix metro fan market served by the Suns. The agreement is an offseason roster move, not a game recap.
