Bojangles, the Southern fried chicken chain, has opened its inaugural Arizona restaurant in Gilbert, nearly a week later than initially planned. The new location welcomed its first customers at 5 a.m. on July 20, offering $100 gift cards to the first 100 patrons in line.

The Gilbert restaurant features a unique "biscuit theater," where guests can observe the biscuit-making process in real time. Jeanette Davis, senior vice president of LV Petroleum, which oversees Bojangles' expansion in the western United States, expressed excitement about introducing the brand to the Phoenix area. She noted that previous expansions have been well-received, and she anticipates a similar response from the local community.

The menu at the Gilbert location includes a variety of items, such as biscuit breakfast sandwiches with bacon, egg, and cheese, as well as steak biscuits, breaded chicken sandwiches, and chicken tenders available in 3-, 4-, or 5-piece servings. Additionally, customers can enjoy sweet Bo-berry biscuits, "legendary" iced tea, and a selection of milkshakes, including vanilla, bo-berry, and chocolate.

Bojangles is now open at 3765 S. Val Vista Drive in Gilbert. Plans for a second location in Phoenix on Indian School Road east of 99th Avenue are underway, but the opening date for that site has not yet been announced.
