Kenny Dillingham, head coach of Arizona State football, has opted to stay with the program, turning down offers from Michigan and earning a long-term contract extension. After a challenging 2025 season marred by injuries, the Sun Devils finished with eight wins, following a historic run to the College Football Playoff the previous year.

Despite losing key players like quarterback Sam Leavitt and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, who was selected eighth overall by the New Orleans Saints, Arizona State has bolstered its roster through the transfer portal.

Dillingham secured one of the nation's top transfer classes, adding players such as Omarion Miller, Reed Harris, and Raiden Vines-Bright, who collectively bring over 2,600 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns to the team.

On the defensive side, the Sun Devils acquired C.J. Fite, a standout defensive tackle, and linebacker Owen Long, who led the nation in tackles last season with 151. However, the departure of Leavitt has raised questions about the quarterback position.

Arizona State has brought in transfers Cutter Boley from Kentucky and Mikey Keene from Fresno State to fill this gap, with both having notable performances in their previous seasons.

The team faces a daunting schedule, including a trip to London to play Kansas and nine consecutive games to close out the season. The roster features several newcomers, including offensive lineman Jarmaine Mitchell and defensive back Ashton Stamps, while key losses include running back Raleek Brown and tight end Chamon Metayer.

As the Sun Devils prepare for the upcoming season, they are expected to embrace their underdog status, aiming to contend for a Big 12 title. Significant matchups include games against No. 8 Texas A&M on September 12, Kansas in London on September 19, and No. 12 Texas Tech on October 17.
